BAJA features a very long career mode, which will take you all around the world and across hundreds of miles of desert, canyon and forest roads and trails.
You'll race many different event types, from quick races around a track to 25+ minutes A to B endurance events, where you will need your crew's help via helicopter to stop and repair along the way!
Take your racing online or locally against 11 other players for a total of 12 racers, banging plastic against plastic and braking your opponent's vehicle, forcing them to stop for a pit stop and repair.
BAJA also supports 4 player split screen multiplayer as well as multiple screen panoramic view.
With more than 40 vehicles in eight classes, including Trophy Trucks, 4x4s and buggies, BAJA features a full array of upgradeable options with hundreds of authentic parts that affect each vehicle’s performance.
In the career mode, you will have to work your way up to the reigning class, the Trophy Trucks. Don't worry, we'll get you warmed up in a nice race-ready Volkswagen Beetle, and after a few races, you'll be able to upgrade that puppy into a full-on race Beetle!
BAJA introduced a damage system that will keep you on your toes as you rev your engine or launch your vehicle into the air for a huge jump...
Almost anything on your vehicle can brake, and it probably will if you don't pay enough attention! The more you abuse your vehicle, the slower it will get...if your panels fall off, you won't get money from your sponsors, and if you loose your spare tire too, changing a flat might be a problem!
Thankfully, you'll be able to stop for repairs in most events: On a racetrack, you can stop at the pits really quick, and during a rally, you'll be able to call for the helicopter to come and meet you a little farther ahead.
BAJA introduced a revolutionary physics engine which delivers unprecedented life-like handling, and a support management system allows gamers to monitor and repair realistic vehicle damage as fenders fly, tires are blown, suspension is stressed and engines overheat.
The courses in BAJA are filled with bumps, jumps and ruts so driving in a straight line isn't a walk in the park. Watch your vehicle's suspensions as they react to every bump and rut in a realistic manner, and affect your driving experience in every race.
Get ready to conquer more then 1000 square miles of the toughest terrains Mother Nature has to offer! You'll race in 9 different locations, and on 100+ race tracks, without counting hundreds of miles of rugged trails and dirt roads during the rally events.
Each environment in BAJA is about 10 square miles in size, giving you hours upon hours of free-roaming and discovering awesome places to play in.
You will also find a dozen race tracks in each location, and hundreds of roads to drive on. You'll never see the same rock twice!
You'll never get bored of racing on the same courses over and over again with BAJA, since the game features 100+ race tracks across 9 different environments!
Each location contains up to 13 tracks + hundreds of roads and trails. Each track is unique and challenging, and they vary a lot in size, difficulty and roughness.
Are you ready to master them all?
Since each environment is so big, we let you drive pretty much anywhere you want to go! See those mountains way over there? You can drive there, you might even find a track when you get there!
Free roaming is tons of fun in BAJA, you can drive the race tracks backwards, sideways, or not at all if you prefer driving on everything but a path...
